The AMQ® is a group of massage therapists who, in 1981, founded the Association des Massothérapeutes du Québec, a non-profit organization.
This group of volunteers came together to work on a joint project: to bring together massage therapists who practice different massage techniques. From its initial group of 10 people, the AMQ® has more than 3900 members today.
The mandate of the Association des Massothérapeutes du Québec is to bring massage therapists together, to keep them informed and to act on their behalf in order to promote the art of massage with due regard for the individual, the public and the profession.
The Association des Massothérapeutes du Québec has a disciplinary structure governed by regulations whose purpose is to protect both the public and the profession. AMQ® massage therapists are required to comply with the Association’s Code of Ethics and General Regulations.
The AMQ®’s management is made up of committed individuals who are dedicated to the success of the profession and the public’s well-being.
Building on 42 years of continuous activity and improvement, the AMQ® works on behalf of its professional massage therapist members, the public and the profession.
